You may remember my dear friend Jean from some of my previous posts. From our bachlorette weekend to her beautiful wedding, we've celebrated many of our "life's biggest moments" together. Well, here's another one, it was Jean's birthday! First one as a married woman! In additional to our usual brunch, Jean suggested we go for another photowalk together. Oh, so exciting!
We met at Ray's and Stark Bar for brunch. A very contemporary Mediterranen bistro. The decor of the resturant reflects the style of its food; simple and creative. We were seated at our table and our host informed us that our silverware was located in the little draw of our table. Neat!
Pork Belly + Melon
Oh, this dish is to die for!!! The crispy saltiness of the pork perfectly complimented by the light sweetness of the melons. The server told me this was his favorite dish at the restaurant and it did not disappoint.
Truffled rice, arugula, hazelnuts, black trumpets, porcini sauce. YUM!
After stuffing ourselves silly. We took a walk to the La Brea Tar Pitts.
I have never been there. It was kinda small. Looked much bigger in the movies...
The LACMA had a painting room for children. Wish I had Brayden with me.
It was all very inspiring.
The grand finale was a visit to the Tim Burton exhibit. It was so awesome! I love learning about the artistic development of this creative genius. How would it feel to live in that man's head?! My favorite part was the room displaying artwork from all his movies. For the movies I've seen it was like watching them all over again. For the ones I have not, now I so want to!
Unfortunately photos are not allowed inside. So we got this shot outside as a keepsake.
Wait, the day's not over yet. Stay tuned for more fantastic photos from our photowalk.

Awww you two! Girl time is so precious! Jean looks wonderful! I used to live right across the street from LACMA (by the 99c store). I totally miss it. Loving the pictures!
